Zoë is the heroine of the novel. The name Zoë is Greek, It means ‘life’ – in the sense of the spirit of life. (In contrast to ‘bios’ – the course of life).
Trouvères is an imaginary surname. Trouvères – as in Troubadour (in French, also discoverer).
Zoë is a traveller. She travels the world in her search for wisdom. (Trouver – to seek, to find. In English we still have trove – as in treasure trove).
Zoë can be seen as healer. She gathers together the draw-strings of the many cultures and traditions she has seen.
